Welcome from our Director:
"I would like to personally welcome each of you to the Place 18: Canadian Student Planning Conference in Edmonton, Alberta! It is an exciting time for our students as they become a strong and independent national voice on planning matters. As planning is confronting a time of many challenges at national and global levels, the University of Alberta students are taking the lead in bringing inspirational speakers together in this forum to ensure our students remain at the cutting edge of the discipline.
Our goal of this conference is multifold: to reinstate an annual national student planning conference that is affordable and provides a place for students, academics, and professionals from across Canada to learn from each other; to take home valuable skills to further improve our communities; and, to provide an opportunity for our students to experience a conference that is truly student-friendly.
I sincerely hope that all of you will consider attending the conference. You are truly our greatest asset today and tomorrow, and we cannot make this conference a success without your support. The conference will allow you to stay engaged, be nimble and help us shape the future of a national student body."
